I’m Tiffany Harris – an educator, speaker and mentor dedicated to helping new teachers feel confident, capable, and supported as they step into their classrooms. With over 15 years of experience in education, I’ve seen firsthand how the right guidance at the start of a teaching career can change its course.

Why I do this…

I started Creating Bridges for New Teachers to bridge the gap between theory and practice – to give new educators the tools and confidence they need to thrive. Teaching is more than lesson plans and assessments. It is about making connections, finding purpose, and continuously growing. I believe every new teacher deserves to feel prepared and supported from day one.

My passion for education has shifted from supporting only those within my classroom, to a broader approach with new teachers and their future students. My goal is to provide opportunities for teachers to feel supported, connected, and inspired as they take their first steps into the classroom.

Professional Background

With over 15 years of classroom experience and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Victoria, I bring both expertise and heart to supporting educators. I’ve spent the past decade mentoring new teachers and the last five years sharing practical strategies and inspiration through conferences and professional learning events. Backed by degrees from St. Mary’s University and the University of Calgary, my work focuses on bridging theory and practice—helping new teachers feel confident, capable, and ready to thrive in today’s classrooms.

Palliser Convention Session: Navigating Classroom Planning with Mentorship and Tangible Support

Using our ‘Balancing Act’ material we were able to adjust and redesign our session for the audience in the room. We ended up with beautiful conversations, a majority of experienced teacher veterans, and the desire for more curriculum-integrated lessons that inspire students to delve deeper into material.
